advisory as well. to our west, unbelievable tornado damage reported out in southern indiana several towns, the early reports of extensive damage. those are the tornadic storm cells, weakening now as they cross from the kentucky, that weather maker headed our way. evening 50s with rain moving in. back to you. >>> peop across the country are alert for a more severe weather. three people died in indiana because of the storms. it's caused thousands of dollars in damage and many problems , the forecast is calling for more of the same over the weekend. tj winnick has more from one of the hardest hit areas in tennessee. >> reporter: severe weather is spinning off more tornados in the deep south, reported twister touched down in northern alabama, in the same area where outbreak of tornados last april left be hundred people dead. forecasters say there is more to come, 13 people across 7 states have lost their lives to a total of 33 confirmed twisters. this wave of severe weather is the result of two fronts colliding. cold air in the north and warm air from the south, with a jet stream in between.

covered houses in indiana, kentucky and tennessee are making the cleanup effort more difficult. now we take you to henryville, indiana. you've seen the stories of devastation but nothing as incredible as the story of stephanie decker. jamie cost tell low joins us with the story. >> stephanie lost both of her legs from protecting her children from not one but two tornadoes. this is what's left of the decker home. nothing. after two tornadoes blew through henryville, indiana last friday night, decker moved to protect her 5 and 8-year-old boys, covering them with a blanket to shield the debris, but the wreckage did hit her, almost cutting off both legs. a second twister was headed right for stephanie's family. pinned down by the two children, she covered her two children. >> they were screaming. mommy, i can't live without you. please don't die. >> unable to move the heavy debris, 8-year-old dominic went for help. stephanie survived but both legs were amputated. the boys are okay. jamie costello, abc2 news. >>> the morning starts off with a scare in harford county, a chemical scare sent s

. in henryville, indiana, people dug out of the snow. amidst the death and destruction, some are finding new bonds with their communities. >> to make sure everybody who doesn't have a home that i'm so fortunate to have, to have what they need. >> frightening pictures to look at. authorities are still investigating but some reports put the number of tornadoes generated friday at more than 100. at least 39 people were killed. >>> well, he's not running for office, but rush limb into in some very -- rush limbaugh is in hot water. last month sandra fluke testified to lawmakers -- we have the wrong picture. she was testifying in front of lawmakers for the need for contraceptive services. limbaugh took to his radio show and called miss fluke a slut and a prostitute saying she wanted to be paid to have sex. some of the advertisers pulled their business. limbaugh issued an apology saying in part, he chose the wrong words. today fluke was a guest on "the view" when barbara walters asked her for her reaction. >> i don't think a statement like this, issued, saying that his choice of words was not the best, c

crash in indiana. one child was killed along with the driver of the school bus and two other children in critical condition. police say the bis was headed to a charter school with about 50 children between the ages of 5 and 16 onboard when it crashed into a bridge abutment. >> going to be a difficult day. i have small children. i have grandkids a hard thing if' got kids the -- i've got kids the same age. you can only imagine what the family is going through right now. it's just a tragedy. >> police say witnesses didn't report seeing anything out of the ordinary before the crash. a spokesperson for the fire department said investigators were also looking to whether the driver had some type of medical emergency. >>> in washington state a school bus with 39 children onboard left the road and ended up rolling over. a medical helicopter was brought in for three children. police say the driver was not injured and no other children were involved. >> the suburban mother of four accused of running a prostitution ring was back in court. >> she is being nicknamed the madam mama. now prosecutors

from twisters in indiana, a world is learning about a school bus driver keeping kids safe and calm. she saw the tornado while driving her bus with 11 children on board, her quick thinking got them to safety just before the bus got tossed around. michael has a video of the heart pounding race against mother nature. >> reporter: it's 3:15 p.m., march 27ened, storm sirens are whaling , the 36,000-pound school intuse no match for the tornado. debris flying, lightning flashing, watch how the bus moves across the parking lot, slams in to a car, and then is lifted and carried across the road crashing in to a diner. the bus microphone picking up the sound of glass breaking inside the restaurant. on this bus, 13 minutes earlier, 11 children heading home, dismissed early because of the threat of severe weather. the driver reassures them. angel perry , the bus driver, scrambling to find a place to take cover. as the skies darken the chatter increases on the bus and the radio. you can hear perry as she makes her decision to turn the bus around. the bus now a minute and a half from the school. perry
